Take your throwing skills to the next level in this hands-on, technique-focused class. Designed for students who are comfortable with basic wheel throwing practices, this course will deepen your understanding of throwing, form, functionality, and finished surfaces.
Throughout the class, you'll explore elaborate projects that challenge your skill and precision, such as throwing up to 5lbs, throwing multiples, multi-part forms, lidded vessels, pouring vessels, throwing and altering, and experimenting with texture and glazing. Refine your throwing skills to produce functional pottery beyond the basics.
Students will receive one-on-one guidance to help develop their personal approach and achieve their desired outcomes, while also participating in group conversation supporting a comfortable, insightful, learning environment.
By the end of this class, you’ll have a collection of well crafted pieces along with a stronger understanding of the creative and technical processes of wheel throwing. This class will help provide you with the tools and confidence to elevate your work.
Pieces will be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after the last class.
