As handbuilders- we rely heavily on moulds of many sorts. In many cases, moulds can even be utilized in a throwing practice!
This full day workshop will support you in building a collection of master bisque moulds using handbuilding techniques. No more plastic platters, or heavy plaster! We will be building and hollowing out or pieces for both slump and hump methods. You may even cast moulds that already exist in the studio- or other objects you love!
In the morning, students will learn the differences between bisque mould types and their benefits. We will start to build a selection of moulds, cast others we wish to cast, and prepare them for drying. After the break, we will hollow out whats needs to be hollow, and refine/smooth all other lumpy and bumpy bits.
Pieces will be bisqued prior to pickup, and students will have moulds to use for years from now!
*Lunch break included, but no lunch provided. Small bites, tea and coffee will be available.
Pieces will be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after the Workshop.
