A class open to makers of all levels, Handbuilt Tableware is an exploration of the wide variety of handbuilding techniques that go into the design and creation of such intimate objects.

Tableware are items of ritual, they may add comfort in every meal, or expression at every dinner party. In this class, we will explore methods such as; slab building, pinching, coil techniques, extrusions, and other small sculptural and refinement techniques. Students will have the chance to explore a wide variety of decorative approaches, as well as finishing their pieces with glazing techniques.
We will create vessels that live at the table and in the cabinets, but also their friends that may add extra expression to the dinner table. Maybe you need a candelabra to go with that serving platter!

There will be much time to make, decorate, and glaze your pieces throughout the 8 weeks. All pieces glazed on the final week will be ready for pickup within 2-3 weeks after the last class.
