Break Down: All materials (clay, tools, decorating materials, glaze) included. Firing included.
In this 6 week sculpture session, explore the design and making process of sculpture, focused in figurative, animal, and nature. Heather will guide you through creating your envisioned piece, with discussion of technique, narrative, and decoration.
Students will build confidence around their approaches to sculpture, picking up core handbuilding techniques along the way. Heather will assist you with solidifying designs and translating them into clay. Students will learn how to finish sculptures with handbuilt trimming and refining techniques, and decorating them as they see fit.
It is highly recommended that you develop an idea or concept before class. You are welcome to reach out to Squiggle ahead of time for discussions.
This course is great for all levels, and a wonderful introduction to sculptural practices.
Pieces will be ready for pickup 2-3 weeks after the class.
